I was wondering how you would be able to get a larger sized shiba inu. Which breed would you have to mix it with to obtain this? I know the average size is 14-16inches for male and 13-15 for females.
You would get an Akita instead. They are pretty much a larger sized Shiba.

If you mix it with another breed, it’s not a Shiba Inu anymore. That’s the size they come in, take it or leave it. If you want a larger dog, find a larger breed.

As others have said, you can’t "get" one by breeding – 2 different breeds = a mutt.
You could, however, contact breeders and let them know that you would be interested in adopting a ‘non show quality’ pup from them and tell them you prefer a larger size. On occasion, a reputable breeder might get a pup that is out of standard and will need to find it a home because it is not capable of breeding or showing.

You cant.
You also cant mix and just select what genes you want.. it doesnt work that way. You wouldnt get a larger shiba inu, you’d get a mixed breed dog with no guarantee on size or traits.
If you want a larger dog, then find another breed.

Try to find a breeder of Shikoku dogs, which are similar in appearance to Shibas but larger. Jindos also look like big Shibas, but have a rough temperament.
You don’t mix another breed to get a bigger example of what you want. As others said, you wiond up with a mutt.
