How do i find a shiba inu breeder online?

Ive checked the shiba inu club website and there are only two breeders in my state which is florida and they both are more than 200 miles away. What can i do now?
I’ve checked local shelters and petfinders but havent found one that I like.

And I’ve also tried googling it but i’m having trouble deciding if they are reputable breeders or just byb.

Shiba inus are very rare and will be difficult to get. If you are dead set one getting one, I would suggest finding a rescue where you can work with them to get the dog to be shipped or picked up half way. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/shiba.htm is a good site and lists breeders and rescues. Also google "Shiba Inu rescues" and you will come up with tons of them. Make sure you do your research and understand what you will be taking on though.

Dont buy a dog! Adopt one from your local shelter….there are so many homeless dogs that need loving homes!

I got both of my dogs on a website called ebay classifieds for breeders. You just go to your area and the pets section and type in the dog you want. They have adds and desciptions that you can look at. If that doesn’t work you can ask around the neighborhood for any breeders.

Sometimes you need to travel long distances to get a good quality dog from a reputable breeder. You could also get in contact with them and see if they will fly the dog to you?

A dozen years ago, a friend of mine got one from Japan, so two hundred miles doesn’t seem like that far.

Go to infodog.com, look up results from shows in Florida, and identify breeders you’re interested in. Mrs. Vesta Hevia of Tampa of Riverview Shibas, Cheryl Giffin of Ovieto of Lee-Fen Shibas, and Patricia Gilliard of Oak Shibas seem to compete and breed in Florida.

Now whether they plan to have litters coming up I wouldn’t know. Nor would I know if they would entrust you with one of their precious pups.
