I have a shiba inu dog and where ever I take her people will come up to me and tell me "Your dog looks like a fox!" I usually just say "yeah" and smile and leave. Its a very awkward moment.
How can I respond to this statement with out sounding like an a-hole?
Well you could maybe say something like, and he’s cunning like one too. Or you could say something like yeah, he’s a shiba inu. I know I was first attracted to the Shiba inu because of this resenblence so ou might spark some intrest in the breed if you actually tell people the breed name. Just an idea.

Why does it matter? Foxes are cute! Shibas do look like foxes I have to admit. Its just someones opinion and it shouldn’t matter.

just tell them he’s a shiba inu and tell them a little history of the breed. so then more ppl are more educated. u may sound like an a-hole but at least ur an educated a-hole.

Ok, I am a very sarcastic person, and I have already thought of a ton of smart alek things to say back. ^_^ I know it is awkward, but it could be that they are trying to figure out what your dog is. I would just correct them and tell them what your dog is. You can use it as an opportunity to brag on your pup.
